Account Information

When you register, we collect your full name, email address, and password. Township administrators may also provide their township's name, address, phone number, county, and website.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information your browser sends when you visit our platform, including your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of your visit, and time spent on pages.

Permit and Service Data

Citizens who submit permit applications or service requests may provide personal information including their name, address, phone number, email, and details relevant to the specific permit or request type. This information is submitted directly to and controlled by the relevant township.

Payment Information

Permit fee payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of payment information.

3. Analytics and Tracking Technologies

We use the following third-party analytics and tracking tools to understand how visitors use our platform and to improve our service:

  • Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about site traffic and user behavior. Google Analytics may set cookies on your device. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Google Tag Manager — We use Google Tag Manager to manage and deploy analytics and marketing tags on our site. Tag Manager itself does not collect personal information but may load scripts that do.

  • For legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TownshipWorks, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Township data (permits, meeting records, service requests) is retained for the duration of the township's subscription and for a reasonable period thereafter to allow for data export. We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
